Transportation from the airport to the city

The Abu Dhabi International Airport is spread over an area of 3,400 hectares. Its terminal spaces are dominated by Etihad Airways and Emirates Airline which are the United Arab Emirates' largest air carriers.

53 airlines offer service to 85 destinations with non-stop services to all populated continents. The only other airports with similar services are Dubai International Airport, Johannesburg Airport, Hamad International Airport, Toronto-Pearson, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Houston-Intercontinental.

There are many car rental companies at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. We recommend renting the vehicle in advance with an online tool to save money. Most of the vehicles are a little more expensive if you rent on spot and sometimes you will not be able to get the desired car.

Outside the airport you will find a well-organized taxi queuing system. It is located right at the exit and you just wait for your turn. The maximum waiting time is around 10min. The tariff is fixed, and is currently about AED90 for the city center and therefore you need not worry about being ripped off.

The airport is located near the city and the maximum travel time from the airport to even the most remote hotel is 35-40min.
